Two weeks ago, I found myself at a WeWork location in downtown Manhattan. It’s one of these co-working spaces, where people rent offices and gain access to communal areas, kitchens, conference rooms, and a mailing address. It’s just the thing for many start-ups or small businesses. You don’t have to deal with the hassles of leases and furniture, and you get to join an interesting, enterprising community. Bait and Switch
Recently, I read a story about a writer who wrote a story that landed her in hot water.
In an essay published on a blog, the writer said she wrote a short story satirizing close family friends. The friends read her manuscript without her permission, and were wounded. A Touch of the Poet
A rainy night, many years ago, I struck up a conversation with a stranger at a bar. He wore checkered pants and an oversize jacket, reminding me of Rodolfo, the poet in the opera La Bohème.
